Pulaski Days, Grand Rapids. Picture a waterfall of beer pouring down cabbage mountains over weathered boulders of kielbasa into a whirling pool of pierogi as a mist of cigarette smoke gently settles on your brow. A clarinet plays off in the distance.
Clintus called in this Suppendapo order a year ago and I finally got around to animating it. I pulled the stills of him from his Flickr account. Here’s to Clintus, always with more awesomesauce.
I’m featured this week on the Some Assembly Required blog. The soundtrack to my video Big Screen Version is part of Episode #150.
Some Assembly Required features work by a variety of artists who work with bits and pieces of their media environments, giving something back to the cultural landscape from which they so enthusiastically appropriate.
I’ve been enjoying the hell out of the podcast since I found out about it a couple of months ago.

Wreck & Salvage | Getting stupid with Glenn Beck
My latest Wreck & Salvage video. Best served in with plenty of bass and in stereo.
Belle Isle Zoo (via Jen Pro-V)
Jen and I went to Detroit to shoot a few pieces for a film she’s working on. We had the best Mexican food since Texas, ate at a Thai restaurant with boarded up windows, watched the sunset behind the city, waited out a storm in the old zoo, saw an armored truck that had been converted into an ice cream truck, saw streets with a house or two, burned out houses, collapsed houses, empty lots, amazing architecture, kids having fun, a guy standing on top of a busted water main, tons of great hand-painted signage, friendly folks, Tigers tailgaters that looked like white refugee camps, donks on parade, and dark buildings.
